Refund Policy
When you get your money back, how much, and how quickly — written without the hedging.

Before work begins
Cancel before your project starts and you receive a full refund of everything paid, including the deposit, within ten business days. No reason needed and no deduction.
Work in progress
Once a stage is underway, refunds are calculated pro rata against what has been delivered. You are charged for completed and delivered work; everything not yet delivered is refunded.
- Editing — charged for chapters already returned to you, refunded for the rest
- Cover design — charged at the concept stage if concepts have been presented
- Ghostwriting — charged per delivered chapter against the agreed schedule
- Marketing — management fee refunded pro rata; ad spend already placed with a platform cannot be recovered
If we miss a deadline
If we miss an agreed milestone by more than ten business days for reasons within our control, you may cancel that stage and receive a full refund of it, and you keep any work delivered to that point.
If you are unhappy with the work
Tell us. Every scope includes revision rounds, and we would far rather fix a deliverable than argue about a refund. Where a deliverable cannot be brought to an acceptable standard after the included revisions, we will either reassign it to a different specialist at no cost to you, or refund that line item in full.
What is not refundable
Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf are not recoverable once spent. These are always named in your scope before they are committed.
- ISBN purchases registered in your name
- Advertising spend already placed with Amazon, Meta or BookBub
- Stock, font or illustration licences bought for your project
- Distributor setup fees paid to IngramSpark or similar
How to request one
Email info@penghousepublishers.com with your project name. We acknowledge within two business days, confirm the calculation in writing, and pay approved refunds within ten business days by the method you originally used.
